This course is designed to train welders using the Manual Metal Arc, MMA or Stick Welding Process up to an International Coded Standard.
The course consists of 19 Modules, each of which should be completed sequentially to ensure consistent progress through the course material.
Students will notice there is a considerable Practical Component to the Course - naturally you need to practice to be a competent welder! Take this seriously - if you do not get it then you will never be a good welder.
The starting point for this Course is the Introductory and Safety Modules. Carefully complete these so that you get some basic grounding, even if you feel you are familiar with the material. Safety is of particular importance, and on completion of the course some consideration should be given to proceed with the OHS Courses in this website.
To demonstrate competence, you need to demonstrate both Theoretical and Practical Competence in the workshop environment, showing the Instructor a good knowledge and understanding of the principles mentioned, and skill in completing the welding process.
The course requires access to a Training Centre or Workshop where Practical Work can be carried out under Supervision of an Instructor.
