TW060 - Welding Best Practice

Duration: ± 5 days | Course Code: TW060 | Cost From: R 1500 ($ 100)

This course consists of 3 Modules to cover the activities welders need to have knowledge and understanding of in order to work under minimal supervision and to produce acceptable quality work. The subjects covered are:

                        • Welding Symbols on Drawings
                        • Pre-heat and Post Weld Heat Treatment
                        • Quality Control

Depending on the company, the application and the industry, welders may or may not to be practically proficient in actually carrying out some of these actions, but all should have a good knowledge and understanding of the process their work will undergo. Coded welders should generally be proficient in all of these modules.

In this manner, the welder will appreciate the necessity of following Best Practice principles on every welded joint.

The module consists of 3 videos approx. 10 minutes duration, Course Notes and final Quiz on the theory at the end of each module. There may be a practical test at the discretion of the company/instructor.

Instructors are cautioned to ensure the learners are first exposed to some Safety Training of Gas, heating and Fire – we recommend the Fire Safety Video on this site.

(When watching the video trailers, it is best to start the video and then immediately pause it, then wait a few minutes to allow streaming before starting play again.)
