There are several causes of Back Pain other than that caused from a direct injury, that result in spraining, straining and otherwise damaging the back through over-exertion, bad posture, lack of exercise, sudden movements, tension and stress, incorrect load lifting and carrying techniques and excessive inactivity.
Back Pain is the second most common ailment that people suffer from, second only to Headaches. It is also the leading cause (nearly 50%) of absenteeism from work, and the problem is it is difficult to diagnose and hard to treat.
Most back Pain can however be managed by changing some postures when at work, play and at home, and by doing regular, gentle exercises.
