Drivers need to have the skills to deal with the unexpected, particularly in a heavy vehicle. There will always be another motorist cutting in, slippery road conditions, animals and children on the roads and maybe even tyre blowouts to deal with, so having the skills to stay out of trouble are essential. Defensive driving is all about avoiding problems before they happen. Driver fatigue is also one of the ongoing major causes of accidents, particularly on the long-haul routes. This course covers some of the basic rules that drivers should follow, as well as provide an awareness of the do's and don'ts of driving, the dangers and hazards and especially Driver Fatigue.
